◎简　　介

故事发生在19世纪的美国，第二次工业革命正在如火如荼的推进之中，当时最知名的两位电力企业家分别是爱迪生（本尼迪克特・康伯巴奇 Benedict Cumberbatch 饰）和威斯汀豪斯（迈克尔・珊农 Michael Shannon 饰），他们将彼此视作是自己的死对头，势 均力敌，针锋相对。
爱迪生是直流电的发明者，他高傲，自大，野心满满，在当时树敌颇多。某日，一位名为特斯拉（尼古拉斯・霍尔特 Nicholas Hoult 饰）的男子发明出了异于爱迪生的交流电，为了抢占市场，威斯汀豪斯火速向特斯拉抛出了橄榄枝，邀请他为自己工作。交流电的出现再一次改观了人们对电力的理解，大大推动了革命进程。
